Accommodations
The Barta Bungalow is a 1951 house in the heart of Shiner that has stayed in the owners' family for nearly 40 years. Welhausen Park is about a minute's walk away, the Shiner Gaslight Theater about three, and Spoetzl Brewery about ten.
The home sleeps four in two equal-sized bedrooms, each with a queen bed, with a full bathroom between them. Its kitchen is fully equipped, right down to a blender, coffee grinder and coffee maker, and the house also has a washer, air conditioning and a patio. Guests have the whole house, with parking under the carport beside it.
The hosts describe Shiner's pecan-lined streets and suggest getting around on foot or by bike, to a coffee shop, the grocery store, restaurants or the brewery. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is roughly an hour and a half away by car, and Houston's George Bush International Airport about two hours.
