Attractions & Activities

The Shiner Gaslight Theatre is a non-profit community dinner theater seating 132, staging contemporary and classic productions. It is run entirely by volunteers, and most shows suit adults and older children.

The theater is housed in the Shiner Opera House, the 'Grand Lady,' which dates to 1895. Over the years it hosted plays, debates, wedding receptions and social gatherings, and its lower floor once held a saloon.

After periods of dormancy, it was revived in 1975 as the Gaslight Theatre by Sister Michelle Belto and her students. Extensive renovations since then have preserved its architecture while updating its amenities.
